The History of The Sangiran Museum Site of Ancient Human

National Culture Camp 2014 will be a good moment for the Direktoral Jenderal Kebudayaan to introduce the Sangiran Museum Site of Ancient Human, Sragen, Central Java, to the campers of all provinces in Indonesia.

The head of the Museum, Sukronedi explained that the museums for ancient human has been established since 1970, located at Krikilan Village Hall. After much more discoveries, the new museum was built in 1984 and located in Sangiran.

After several years, there’s some changes. The old buildings were broken down and the new design was made for ​​Sangiran museum. Precisely in 2011, the new museum was inaugurated by Sangiran Deputy Minister of Education and Culture, Wiendu Niruyanti.

He also said, to preserve the site and the fossils of early humans, it’s needed community involvement through the Community-Based Conservation Concepts, because the fossils were buried in the ground and often found by people .

In addition, to introduce this museum, The National Cultural Camp 2014 is also used to show the cultural and traditional dances which summarized under the theme " Solo Dance 24 Hours ".
